Halloween S.T.E.M. Challenge: Hanging Cauldron

In honor of Halloween, our class participated in a S.T.E.M. Challenge. Working in teams, students were assigned the task of constructing a hanging cauldron that would could hold the most marbles. Teams had to collaborate to design, build, test, and improve their cauldron creations prior to the final test.

       As part of our Second Step lessons for social emotional growth and understanding bullying, the entire fourth grade headed over to the H. Olive Day School for their first visit with our first grade buddies.  This was the first of two visits we will have this year.  Fourth graders served as mentors to the first graders as students learned about being a good friend.
